Sassafrass is a 3 yr old spayed female cattledog and pitbull mix. She weighs around 40 lbs and is up-to-date on her vaccinations and is house-trained (with occasional accidents). Sassafrass is good with kids but due to her high, playful energy, would be strongly recommended only with older children. She is good with other dogs but has shown a strong aggressive drive for toy possession. She is not good with cats, and she tends to have skin problems when fed low-quality food.

From her current owner:

"Sass is an incredibly playful, sweet and happy dog. She is a fast learner, and absolutely loves almost everyone. She understands "sit", "stay", "lay down", "no bark", "shake", as well as "turn around" (spins in circle), and "up" (jumps up on hind legs). The ideal home for Sass would have lots of room to run, people to play with every day, and a passion for her energy and enthusiasm, where she can be an only pet. She would make a great running partner, and for an experienced trainer would adapt and learn quickly and happily. Sass can sometimes be easily startled and scared around new things, so a good owner would work patiently with her to overcome fears and ease her transitions. Sass has been deeply loved, and still is, so the right home for her would appreciate what a great and fantastic friend and companion she will be."
