About Friends for Life FRIENDS FOR LIFE ANIMAL RESCUE was founded in of 2001. We are a 501 (c)(3) non-profit California corporation. It is the goal of FFL to provide a bridge for animals from homelessness or abandonment to their forever homes by offering the following services: MATCHMAKER PROGRAM: assist families or individuals in finding new homes for dogs or cats they can no longer care for through website listings, adoption events, and community networking. SPAY/NEUTER PROGRAM: stopping the births of unwanted animals by providing spay/neuter services for dogs and cats in low-income homes. FOSTER CAT PROGRAM: volunteers care for cats or kittens in their homes until a loving “forever home” is found. SHELTER EMERGENCY MEDICAL FUND: this program serves animals in need at the Humboldt County Animal Shelter who are suffering from illness and/or injury and have exceeded the amount of money allocated for veterinary care that the county shelter is able to provide. HUMANE EDUCATION PROGRAM: a volunteer will come to classrooms or service organizations to discuss the FFL goal of ending animal homelessness, and what loving “forever homes” means to our community. If you think you would like to be part of this work, please go to the Volunteer Opportunities page to learn more. |
