Matchmaker Program

This innovative program is keeping animals out of the local shelter system and thus freeing up space for dogs and cats who simply have no other place to go. People who have found the dog or cat of their dreams through our program report that being able to talk to the animals’ former owners has been a great help in making good, permanent placements and makes the transition easier for the animals and a great experience for the parties involved.

Our Matchmakers can help you if you’re looking to add a new family member or if you must find a new home for your dog or cat. Call 442-5999 and when the message begins, hit the number “3" and then the “#” sign and you’ll be taken to the Matchmaker’s voice mail. Leave us a message and we will return your call within 48 hours. Be sure to indicate if you wish to speak to the Cat Matchmaker or the Dog Matchmaker.

If You Need to Rehome a Cat or Dog
You must be able to keep the animal in your home while we list it on our website and search for a placement. All the animals we work with must be spayed or neutered prior to being listed on our site and attending adoption events. If the animal is too young to be altered, we can still help you, but as a condition of placement the person adopting the animal MUST agree to have the animal altered as soon as they are old enough and put down a deposit for the surgery which will be done through our Spay/Neuter program. If you have an adult animal that has not been altered that you wish to list with us, you may also contact our Spay/Neuter program to arrange for this to be done if you meet the requirements of the Spay/Neuter program. Call 442-5999 and press “2" then “#” to leave a message for the Spay/Neuter team. If you would like to download the Website Listing Form which is required for anyone listing a dog or cat on our site, the form is available at the bottom of this page.

If You Are Seeking a Dog or Cat
Our Matchmaker team will work with you to find out exactly what you are looking for in a cat or dog: age, breed, size, etc. The more we learn about the dog or cat you seek, the better match we can make. We take that information and put it in our database. When an animal fitting your criteria is entered into the database, we call you and provide you with contact information of the current guardian and pictures if the animal is listed on our website. From that point on it’s a private adoption between you and the guardian. You meet with them, learn about the dog or cat and decide if this is a good match. If so, a great dog or cat gets a great home. If not, we’ll keep searching for you.
